Anita is an interdisciplinary artist, producer and researcher working in the public domain with research interests in open source culture and the impact of technology, ethically and ecologically. As Co-founder and Creative Director of Art Services Unincorporated she continues to have her work exhibited and performed nationally and internationally winning the prestigious Bravo Award, for a digital public art project in Memphis, TN. She was elected by invitation to the Royal Society of Arts and recently invited to the inaugural Placemaking Leadership Council convened by Project for Public Spaces, in Detroit, 2013.
Anita is currently on sabbatical from SMARTlab’s CATALYST initiative www.smartlab-ie.com to focus on her PhD and develop new projects in New Mexico. CATALYST is SMARTlab’s Creative Arts Technology Access Lab for Youth engagement, Social inclusion and Technology transfer. Anita managed the artists and technologists in residence, who work with the lab and the wider community from CATALYST’s University College Dublin base. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, she is currently in New Mexico, hosted by LEAP www.leapsite.org as the first artist in residence in the newly designated Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument and contributed to the inaugural Place-making Leadership Council, Detroit, 2013, an international initiative convened by Project for Public Spaces.
