Memorable Prints: Big and Little Stories, May 27-28

Can you reshape a quotation, a loved one’s life, a point of view into a collage or a book?

In this memorable class, Memorial Day weekend, we will make large prints (maybe more) with a template and turn them into keepsake book forms.  There will be three forms to choose from and time to practice, with encouragement to alter the forms.

Emphasis will be on the evolution or sequencing of images as it strengthens the ideas.  Coaching from artist Barrie Andrews will help marry the message with the form.  Even dreams have a relatable, if nonsensical, sequence.  Perhaps you have a recurring dream that loops?

All materials will be supplied.  We will use non-toxic water based inks, collage materials, monotype and drypoint.  Materials include: high quality artist papers, printers, sewing machines, encaustic wax and tools for drypoint and stencils, and printmaking joy.

Experience will be helpful but the focus is on content; simple procedures will be adapted for those with little or no printmaking experience.  Bring lunches; some snacks and drinks available for purchase.
