Tuesday Morning Yoga with Gaea
A morning practice to gently energize and restore
This 90-minute class explores sequences that facilitate greater mobility, ease tension, and increase awareness of breath, while mindfully engaging in foundational yoga poses. The instruction guides each person to work within his or her range of motion and body’s abilities. We like this way of describing yoga - offered by Barron Baptiste - as “the unending process of refinement.”
We have some mats, blankets, and props, but you are welcome to bring a mat and blanket from home. Our hope for 2017 is to add yoga classes and materials as we increase our healing arts offerings at OCHO.
Yoga instructor, Gaea McGahee began practicing yoga 20 years ago in southern NM, her original home. She migrated to northern NM in 2011 and has a deep love for this place and community. She completed a 200-hour teacher training in Taos in May (2016).
"Yoga at OCHO through the month of December was wonderful! The space is lovely and big fires in the wood stove generated enough heat with a couple of electric heaters helping out through cold nights. I'm looking forward to spending more mornings there with all of you."
This Tuesday morning class originated as a pilot class that asked participants for their feedback. We learned that Tuesday morning worked for many people and so we’ll keep offering this class, as per above.
We’d like to offer an additional class and the feedback so far has highlighted these days and times:
Monday or Thursday afternoon
Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning
We’re taking suggestions and input for the rest of the month of January.
Please contact Gaea with questions about the Tuesday morning class, and the addition of more yoga offerings, firstname.lastname@example.org, 575-224-2102.
